The Love Dare

So every night (well most nights) for the last 2 weeks we have been reading and "doing" The Love Dare. Its a book based off the movie Fireproof.

We have a wonderful marriage, but when we saw this in the bookstore, we said "Why not?" There are 40 days worth of readings in the Love Dare. Each day you read a devotional type message about love/marriage. Then at the end of the devotional, there is a"dare" for you to do before the next day's reading. The dares can be as simple as "make a phone call to your spouse for no particular reason some time during the day" or as complex as "list how your spouse can be rude and explain to them why you believe these actions are rude." The Love Dare really discusses what God teaches us about love and how to apply it to our marriage. Like we said before, we have a wonderful marriage, but sometimes in the midst of us both working, two children 15 months apart, and the everyday woes of life, the marriage sometimes gets worked to the back of the priority list. But we've found that since we have put our marriage first the other stuff falls into place easier. We'd definitely suggest it to anyone that's in a relationship....it applies to couples that are having difficulties, couples that have a rocksolid marriage, couples just starting out and couples that have been together for 40 years.
