Conversations 'Round These Parts

An all too often conversation at our house these days.....


Josie: Mommy, I did it all by myself.

Me: That's great baby. (Pause) Wait, what did you do by yourself?


Josie: I put on lotion all by myself.


Me: (running frantically to find her while wiping off my wet hands from washing dishes and not so patiently saying) Josie, baby, you have GOT to let mommy help you put lotion on. You can't do everything by yourself.


Josie: Yes I can mommy cause I'm big and strong.


And the consequence of Josie's independence? Well...
